On Thursday 15/3/2018 we signed up to WWF world earth day to earn a special badge and it fits in really well with the John Muir Award . The main event on world earth day on 24/3/18 is earth hour at 8.30pm when everyone in the world who takes part turning of lights etc so all our scouts will be encouraging friends and family all to do the same which will make a positive impact on our planet . We will be doing some activities leading up to the event making jam jar lanterns , visit to the forest on Thursday before will a small campfire , test the lanterns out and maybe a spot of star gazing this will hopefully earn our scouts the Earth day 2018 badge.

We finished the day on our conservation challenge with a litter pick along the Millennium Trail to the shores of Loch Lomond. Here, plastic litter and cans and bottles had been washed ashore, along with many golf balls! We separated the litter so we could recycle as much as possible.

Take the time to enjoy nature up close, we found these little elf cups on the floor of the forest. Magnificent pop of red!

We hope everyone can now learn about and hopefully spot some red squirrels along the squirrel scurry trail.
