Spent the afternoon with the park rangers replanting pond plants and lifting litter.

Bike ride through Caprington woods, not my normal Friday night.

The Cubs were making pancakes on our new Ezystove rocket stoves at the back of the hut. Now they are off on an adventurous Easter Break.

The group were awarded their John Muir Discovery certificates and we celebrated with baked potatoes and marshmallows around the fire pit we made. In honour of our bog garden, Jake led us in a rousing chorus of his own version of the Rattling Bog!

The bog garden was finally full of stone, sand and soil and as a bonus, the sun was shining again! We planted it up with bog plants and watered it well.

The Rural Skills Trainees demonstrated the ancient art of peening at our Spring Festival yesterday on International Peening Day. What is peening? A method of cold forging a scythe blade! We learned to scythe at the end of last summer and we're hoping to use our skills again this summer.

The new hedge we planted over the winter is bursting into life as we add a few more species to it to make it as wildlife friendly as possible
