This just shows you that even 5 minutes over a lunch break can make a difference for Nature - the litter beach blitz! Amazing work helping to look after the National Park.

This mighty big specimen was not match for the Balfron High School Junior Rangers! Team work and determination managed to get to grips with this monster.

Today, along with two other trainees, I helped out on a volunteer day on the path running up to The Cobbler in the Arrochar Alps. The day consisted of a fairly straight forward drain-run. Moving our way up the path we split into groups of two or three, clearing cross-drains and water bars as we went. With the path being very popular, we could engage with the public throughout the day and explain the importance of our efforts to the sustainability of the path.

15.12.17 - We had been learning about turning through the points of a compass in maths and we wanted to consolidate our learning by teaching another class so we brought them up to the trees. We used a compass to find north and then we used sticks and stones to create compasses. The gave each other instructions to follow such as; "Face North. Turn 25% of a turn anti-clockwise. Which was are you now facing?" Some of the questions were quite challenging but it certainly helped us learn. Warm coats were needed in the middle of December but it didn't stop us enjoying being in our wild place.
