The litter team wanted to share a John Muir quote with visitors to the Waterworks. They painted an old wooden pallet.

Completed bird bath. The group observed sparrows using the bird bath on one occasion while they were at the site.

The animal habitat group decided to build a bird bath as they couldn't find anywhere on the site for smaller birds to use to drink from or clean their feathers.

What an amazing start to our Balfron Junior Ranger John Muir Award - a visit to Balmaha then over to Inchcailloch. Our Mission:Explore John Muir was Go Barefoot which resulted in paddling, no one could resist! We also glimpsed the white Hart Fallow deer which was a highlight. I wonder what adventures we will have tomorrow?

Primary 7 children spoke to younger children and their parents about the lifecycle of a frog, how they develop and what they eat at the different stages. They carefully removed some of the tadpoles for children to look closely at. They made sure that the younger children knew about the importance of collecting and returning the tadpoles safely to their habitat.

29.09.17 - Exploring. We had been learning about using the camera on an ipad for effective photography so we brought the ipads up to the trees again to take improved photographs of our natural area. We noticed the changes that had taken place since we first visited. Autumn was starting to turn leaves and grasses brown and bushes and flowers we going to seed. There was still plenty of colours to capture.
