The Junior Rangers had a great day helping the lovely Rosie from The Mountains and The People to clear the water bars on the footpath. Great team work from everyone.

Numeracy in Nature! The Junior Rangers used a Clinometer to measure the gradient of the path on Ben Lomond and a trundle wheel to measure the distance we had walked before finding how far we had come on the map, learning about scale.

“The world's big and I want to have a good look at it before it gets dark.” ― John Muir We were amazed at the scale of the Fen at the RSPB Lomond reserve when we learning about how important this habitat is for nature and how to manage it properly.

“When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world.” ― John Muir This huge slug is just one of the amazing variety of nature we came across on our wild walk.

Huge thanks to Luke the assistant warden RSPB at the Lomond Reserve yesterday for a great day - the Junior Rangers helped rake the cut meadow to ensure the nutrients don't build up and reduce the biodiversity of the plant species in the future
