This is the length from the woods to the school gate and the height of the trees in the woods by Robert and Lewis

Today we measured different trees to find there height by looking between our legs and seeing if we could see the top.

We were measuring the trees

Today when we went to the woods, we measured the height of some of the trees in the area. We did this by stepping away from the chosen tree then bending down to see if we could see the top of the tree, if we could we took a metre stick and worked out how far away from the tree we were, that was the rough estimate of the height of the tree. If you couldn’t see the top then you kept repeating this until you could see it.

Today we went to the woods and we were measuring how tall the trees were our tallest tree was 4.34m high.
