The John Muir Group learnt how to make a safe fire in the wilderness - we managed to build a fire big enough to roast marshmallows 😊

Just before the Easter Holiday, the John Muir Group had they eyes on a range of different eggs .... from quails eggs right through to a goose egg. Then we did a trail around the school grounds to discover what nests/eggs wild birds made and laid.

Back in March, the John Muir Group joined some of the other students from the school to help others explore and enjoy a litter free local park. It was well worth the effort - bags of rubbish were collected!

The students really enjoyed joining in the RSPB bird survey in January. So back in March we put together some bird boxes - there were open fronted boxes for robins and some with holes for smaller birds. Hopefully they will be occupied this year.

We hope to grow enough vegetables to have a meal by the end of term! Some of the students have even dug their own vegetable areas at home.

We love having time to explore the local area to see what we can find.
