1/11/18 Glenurquhart Primary P6/7 D have been learning about symptoms of ash dieback. Thankfully we didn’t see many symptoms but one of the only ones we saw was a tree with the top leaves missing. It may have just been autumn leaves falling . We saw lots of healthy ash trees though, we know this because we saw lots of ash keys on them. C,A,T

Ready to explore! 1/11/18

In preparation for a volunteer task in the new year, the team spent Tuesday 11th December surveying a section of the West Highland Way. It was a great opportunity to get out the office and explore an area of the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park that we do not get to visit very often. We set off from Crianlarich and headed south passed the Falls of Falloch to Inverarnan. The Falls were in full flow and it was great to see them from a different perspective (the other side of the river from the car park). Along the way we chatted about Scottish history in area and marvelled at all the weird and wonderful lichens. We also managed to find a Geocache, a first for some of the team.

Using flint and steel to light a Kelly Kettle for the first time was an amazing experience.
