Exploring the shore in our canoes and learning about our under the loch creatures...

Each group reflected on their experiences of the week and collated all information learned about John Muir and the 4 components along the way. They then presented what they had learned along the way.

Nature ramble aroung Eglington country park.

At the end of the session the children were given the chance to make a bird feeder out of seed, lard and a pine cone.

Todays session involved giving the children the opportunity to hold and touch items such as bird feathers, wings, eggs, nests and even claws.

This photo shows the planing that I have done to paint stones of John Muir's life. I looked at a timeline of his life and I chose the most important key features. To paint the stones I am using coloured markers and then I am going to varnish every single one of them, so that they are waterproof. I am going to put the stones in our Secret Garden and place them around in chronological order. When I have finished in the garden people can come and find out about John Muir.

With the sun shining and the snow on the hills, it was a perfect day for a lunch time stroll around Balloch Country Park. We followed a small section of the John Muir Way along the shores of Loch Lomond, stopping to have a look at the different ducks. Amongst the Mallards and Moorhens, Gordon shared his identification skills and pointed out couple of Goosanders and a Goldeneye. With Tina Turner ringing in our ears we carried on with our walk around the park taking in the wonderful views across the loch. On our way back we came across a fairy house, Kevin gave the door a knock, but they must have been out.
