We stopped to experience our surroundings.

Yesterday, we looked at Vincent Van Gogh's painting of sunflowers and then designed our own plant pots. Today, we planted sunflowers in our pots...we hope they grow.

6 miles 2.30 - 7pm. After two weeks off because of car troubles and terrible weather we travelled further afield this week because the day was super beautiful and long - we had all the time in the world! We walked out of Longnor and down through fields, paddling in a river and climbing higher again. We had to make a few adjustments to our walk as out planed route made its way through several fields full of cows! (Finn picked up a large balloon from one of the fields we walked through) We saw: House Martin, Crow, Blackbird, Sparrow, Pheasant. The trees we saw were Sycamore, Common alder, Ash, Hawthorn, Pines (?), Elder, Lime, Beech, Cherry, Yew, Birch and Horse Chestnut.

We explored part of the South Downs Way at Bignor Hill trying to identify birds by their song. Song thrushes and sky larks were very clear. 2 hrs walk. Wednesday 26th May.

3 hours discovering our local woods we found some Bluebells still standing and so many other wild flowers and wild orchids amazing bird songs, bugs and tress that look like catapults. And a dandelion fog covering the ground like we had never seen before. Edit; what we thought were dandelion seeds are willow seeds

We thought these seeds must be dandelion but have found out they are willow seeds
