Lotanna and the magic beanstalk

These pots have been biscuit fired and now we are glazing them before they are fired again. We made clay hedgehogs, clay leaves and some other decorative pieces.

We made these planters and today we have planted them up, ready to take home. Weyinmi enjoyed hoovering up all our mess!

The Elderbank Explorers really enjoyed the experience of learning how to make a fire safely and what 3 elements are required to create a fire. Brilliant discussion about being respectful to the environment and how we must leave the area as we find it. Most of all they enjoyed eating the toasted marshmallows!

Big THANK YOU goes out to Ian Shaw from Place Woodland in Kilbrinie, who kindly donated trees to all our outdoor groups. The Elderbank Explorers were delighted with their new trees and they will take them home to share a planting experience with their family.

I saw this fungi on the way to the library and later identified them as shaggy inkcaps.
