Finally my wish of snow is answered! A stroll in the morning at Castelmilk park with snow capped landscape and the fog giving it a mysterious beautiful look.Nature is amazing and powerful hence we imitate from it.

Walking down the Thames at night was quite a different experience to the mornings. It was a sort of navy blue and whilst the moon was up, it seems as though the stars were not yet up. It was still quite chilly for a winter's evening but the wind was not as harsh, making it quite fun.

Back in lockdown. Time to pick up the needles again – one part of last year’s quiet life was stitching nature – blackwork flowers, cross-stitch animals and knitted birds. It started slowly several years ago - we were wrapping up a volunteer training course at RSPB Lochwinnoch, when our ecologist came flying out of the gift shop with a book, recommending I buy it – it was Knitted Birds by Nicky Fijalkowska. Last year, I added sparrow and oystercatcher to the feathered family – birds I have seen regularly on and from National Cycle Network routes throughout 2020. They’re imperfect creations – for me, the joy is in the making…what to do with them after is the problem. Luckily the two new ones were made just in time for the season of giving - do Christmas presents count as Sharing for my Award??
