The Wind in the Willows, Scots Pine, Rowan and More II
Glasgow Kelvin College – Personal Achievement 14 MayThe ground around us was soft and spongy and we had to make sure that we took care where to step and also where to plant our new trees. Using spades and in small teams we decided where best to plant each tree for maximum impact making sure to enhance and not spoil the views for visitors of the future. Team work has been one of the main things we have learned over the past year within our active learning project. This was clear to see from the outset today as we paired up with classmates and even decided to allow our support to tag along. We even went as far as allowing our Class Teacher Colin to get involved! Some of our favourite trees were Scots Pine and the lovely Rowan tree that we are sure would act as a red berry laden larder for our blackbird friends and others within the park. And so with the help of Rangers Kate and Fiona we marched on through the moss covered ground with smiles on our faces and learning by our sides, another great active learning through nature done.
