Introducing Rowhill Nature Reserve
-
Rowhills is wilderness in minature... It is only 55 acres and it is completely surrounded by houses and roads, yet it has different types of woodland from coppiced hazel, through oak with holly understory to scots pine; it has ponds and marshy areas and is the birth of the Blackwater River; it has heathland and a meadow.
It is a wonderful site for this group of home educating families to discover and explore.
We are lucky that there is a very active group that manage the reserve and they will kindly help us take meaningful conservation work on the reserve. We will also share our discoveries and adventures with them.
