Getting Our Bird and Bat boxes ready

We have planned to run a fun day in one of our local forests Derrynoyd wood on the 4th feb which as part of our activities planned as part of the award is place bird & bat boxes around the forest to give them a little hand . We had few bird and bat boxes in our scout den from previous years so we decided to give them a revamp with a non toxic wood stain (only on the outside)and hope this will extend the life of the boxes when placed.The photo shows some of our scouts getting stuck into painting the boxes.
