Discovering a Wild Place
-
On our first session we took a trip over to South Queensferry and Dalmeny Estate. From Long Craig Pier we followed the woodland path passing by Whitehouse Point towards Hound Point. While walking though the woods we were on the look out for any plants and animals we could see. In particular we were looking for any signs of snow drops a good indicator amongest others that spring was on its way.
Although we saw a number of birds, our best experience was of the little robin that followed us along the path looking for any crumbs that may come its way, its luck was not in.
We stopped on the beach at Hound Point for a spot of lunch before exploring the beach looking for as many different shells as we could find.
As the tide was not yet in we had enough time to explore the beach before heading back in time for the tide to come in and from there headed back along the woodland path towards Long Craig Pier.
We focused heavily on leaving no trace and taking nothing but a few shells and lots of pictures and memories of our first day of Discovery.
